It’s time for the first of the changeovers in the North country, when February generously makes way for March, and the snow moon takes a gracious bow. And yet, Mother Nature’s son Winter stubbornly refuses to leave. The hills stay snuggled under thick blankets of snow, and the trees are still not dressed. What is there to do, dear Traveler?

Father Time can take away one of his hours, and we can ask his sister Spring to show a little more patience. We can moan and grumble with each new mischievous shower of snow; or we can watch how Tiny enjoys each glorious snowflake, savors every crystal of ice, and holds Winter’s hand with sweet tenderness until the last of the snow clouds is ready to step aside for Spring’s awakening.
